Used for excursions but currently undergoing its five-year inspection..

Passenger locomotive. Just finished 5-year inspection.
Currently used for excursions.

Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago and St. Louis) GP-9, No. 514

Built: Electro-Motive Division, General Motors Corporation, La Grange,
IL, 1958
Currently used as a yard switcher.
Re-painted into Nickel Plate colors as of Spring, 1998.

Built: Lima Locomotive Works, December 1934
Passenger engine. Currently under restoration to full working status.
The No. 26, No. 3254 and No. 2317 normally reside in the Roundhouse when
not in use.

Used: Carpenter O'Brien Lumber Company

Also: J.C. Turner Lumber Company
It spent most of its life near Perry, FL as the company it worked for
went through mergers and acquisitions.

Bullard Company No. 2
Type: 0-4-0T (tank)
Built: H.K. Porter, October 1937
Used: Machine tool company as a switch engine.
Perhaps the smallest engine made for standard gauge.

Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad No. 565
Type: 2-6-0 Mogul
Built: American Locomotive Company (Schenectady Works), 1908
Also used by: Dansville & Mount Morris Railroad
The only other DL&W engine surviving is in the Museum of Transportation
in St. Louis.

E.J.Lavino and Company No. 3
Type: 0-6-0T Saddle tank
Built: American Locomotive Company, Schenectady Works, April 1927
First owned by Poland Spring Company in Maine.
Lavino and Company used it as a switch engine in a manganese blast
furnace at Sheridan, PA.
This engine has Stephenson Valve gear, rigid wheel base of 10 feet,
2 inches.

The Grand Trunk Western Railway, in the USA, was owned by the Grand
Trunk Western Railroad of Canada which became part of the Canadian National
(owned by the government of Canada).

Built: American Locomotive Company, November 1903; rebuilt 1918
Used: Chicago Union Transfer Railway until 1904. Numbered ICR No. 641
until 1943.

Lowville and Beaver River Railroad No. 1923
Type: 2-8-0 Consolidation
Built: American Locomotive Company, Cooke Works, Paterson, NJ, October
1920; resold March 1923
Built for Compania Azucarera Central Reforma (Cuba) but never delivered.
Used on a short line in New York's Adirondack region.

Maine Central Railroad No. 519

One of the last three steam locomotives on the Maine Central.

Used: hardwood lumber manufacturing plant in West Virginia.

Used: Connecticut trap rock quarry.

Sold to: Akron, Canton & Youngstown Railway in 1920 (renumbered
304) and to the Dansville and Mount Morris Railroad (NY) in 1929.

Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago and St. Louis) No. 759
Type: 2-8-4 Berkshire
Built: Lima Locomotive Works, Lima, OH, August 1944
This is the last steam locomotive overhauled by the Nickel Plate.

Norwood and St. Lawrence Railroad No. 210
Type: 2-6-0 Mogul
Built: American Locomotive Company, Cooke Works, Paterson, NJ, December
1923
Used: New York State short line near the St. Lawrence River.

Public Service Electric and Gas Company No. 6816
Type: 0-6-0F "Fireless" switcher
Built: H.K. Porter, February 1923; also reported as July 1923
Used: Newark, NJ.
This engine carries no fuel and cannot heat water to make steam. It
is connected to a stationary steam boiler and charged with steam then runs
around the work area until next charge is needed.

Rahway Valley Railroad No. 15
Type: 2-8-0 Consolidation
Built: Baldwin Locomotive Works, June 1916
Used first by Oneida (TN) and Western Railroad as No. 20.
Bought by the Rahway Valley Railroad of New Jersey in 1937. The Rahway
connected to the DL&W at Summit, NJ and the No. 15 was at least once
repaired in the DL&W Scranton shops.

Reading Company No. 2124
Type: 4-8-4 Northern
Rebuilt: Reading Works, January 1947.
Used: for "Reading Rambles" in the 1960's.
Originally a 2-8-0 built by Baldwin in the 1920's, was rebuilt as a
T-1.
Designed to burn anthracite.

Spang, Chalfant & Co. No. 8
Type: 0-6-0 Switch engine
Built: Baldwin Locomotive Works, 1923
Sold to Duquesne Slag Products Co. in 1954.
Sold to Penn View Mt. in 1963.
Engine and tender have several sections removed to show actual working
parts. Interior is color-coded for fire, water and steam.

Union Pacific Railway No. 4012
Type: 4-8-8-4 "Big Boy"
Built: American Locomotive Company, November 1941
Length: 132 feet, 9 1/4 inches.
Retired by UP in 1962 after logging more than one million miles. In
good mechanical condition but too heavy for rails in northeast US.

Semi-permanently coupled to a "trailer" unit (it could go either direction),
one car could be the control unit for five additional pairs (total of twelve
cars). The pantographs on top get electricity from an overhead catenary.

Built: PRR Juniata Shops, Altoona, 1918
Pulled Broadway Limited and other fast passenger trains.
Owned by Railroaders Memorial Museum, Altoona, PA.
On display at Horseshoe Curve for many years.
Being restored to operational status for return to Altoona.
