Atlas Car & Manufacturing Co. was in business at its Cleveland, OH location from 1896, producing specialized rail equipment for blast furnaces and steel plants. They build locomotives from the early 20's to mid-40's. They ranged from 2ton endcabs to 65ton center cabs. The most common type, a 50ton, 300hp center-cab with radial couplers is shown below. Their primary source of electrical equipment was Westinghouse.(1)
