The concourse is spacious and airy, lit with full length skylights and decorated in pastels. The platforms are beyond the doors to the left. When Pennsy's GG-1 #4876 lost her brakes in 1953 and crashed through the head wall, she wound up roughly in the center of this picture - and 30' down - in the baggage area.
Despite it's principal user - Pennsy
- being electrified, the terminal is switched with steam. This husky WUT
0-8-0 displays its obvious Altoona heritage.
