As much as anything else, Grafton, West Virginia is a point on the map where the Baltimore & Ohio branch line up from the State capitol at Charleston, WVa and the connecting line via Wheeling to Cleveland meet the National Route. This is the gateway to a maze of back holler branch lines, so this neat and substantial brick station sees an interesting assortment of trains ranging from the "National Limited" to combine-and-RPO/express locals that spend their days winding through the Appalachian back country.
